Illustration & Art

Pencil lines, watercolour, texture and a story.

Mixed media illustration and artwork, both digital and hand made.

Heartfelt and thoughtful

Sentimental and nostalgic, sweet and quirky. Always telling a story.

My illustration and artwork is connected by tones of blue, texture, mixed media and a story. Some works are hand drawn, while others are created digitally. I love texture, pencil lines, pops of colour, and creating something with meaning.

Here you will find my gallery, or portfolio of works. Some of these will be available for purchase - as originals or prints.

I’ve often wondered about the stories a hat could tell. They are worn and weathered. Are carried through life. What have they seen, experienced and collected on the way. Journeys told through hats, feathers, and the lives they touched.

This is a series of on-going works that explores and collects up stories of life - scuffed and feathered with memory. Portraits of people, told by the hats that knew them best.

A celebration of worn hats, wild journeys and the people who wore them.

Hat Stories - Under the Brim

Wherever it wandered, the hat gathered feathers like souvenirs - tokens from the sky.

A glossy black feather found after a storm, a russet plume found near cliffs, even a bright blue tui’s caught in a city wind.

Each feather told a story: of places passed, people met, and skies slept under.

Tucked into the band, they weren’t decoration, they were memory.

Carried close, never claimed.

Now the hat rests, its brim faded, its band full. A quiet archive of the open road, still and weightless.

Feather by feather, it flew father than any wings ever could.
